ANIMAL SPIRIT SHIELDS
These wall hangings are my latest gourd work in series, and feature animal portraits painted with acrylics on a canteen gourd. The gourd is cut in half and then mounted on a steel disc. The disc is custom made for me from a design based on an antique clutch plate I found in a local shop. They are further embellished with leather, beads, and/or feathers.
Each shield is 13 inches in diameter, signed and dated. They currently sell for $125, plus shipping.
